Pure White Line Caridina Shrimp

A clean, striking white line for the dedicated shrimp keeper

The Pure White Line Caridina is a selectively bred freshwater dwarf shrimp admired for its beautiful, opaque white body and understated elegance. Unlike patterned Crystal Red or Crystal Black shrimp, this line is prized for its predominantly solid white appearance, making it a standout addition to planted aquariums, moss-filled shrimp tanks and dedicated Caridina breeding setups.

At NatHab Aquatics, we’re excited to welcome this distinctive line to our growing collection of specialist shrimp. Whether you’re expanding an existing Caridina colony or working towards a carefully selected breeding line, the Pure White Line offers something truly special.

Recommended Water Parameters

Pure White Line Caridina require soft, stable water conditions similar to other specialist Bee shrimp. Consistency is more important than constantly adjusting the water to chase a particular reading.

Parameter| Recommended range

  • Temperature| 20–23°C
  • pH| 5.5–6.5
  • GH| 4–6 dGH
  • KH| 0–1 dKH
  • TDS| 100–150 ppm

NatHab care tip: We recommend using RO water remineralised with a dedicated GH+ shrimp mineral salts (Salty Bee Shrimp minerals) and an appropriate active buffering substrate. Monitor temperature, GH, KH and TDS regularly, and avoid sudden changes during water changes.

A mature, fully cycled aquarium with gentle filtration, good oxygenation, moss and natural grazing surfaces will provide an excellent foundation. Ammonia and nitrite should always remain at zero.

Feeding Your Pure White Line Caridina

In nature, dwarf shrimp spend much of their day grazing on biofilm, microorganisms, algae and decomposing plant material. A successful aquarium diet should complement this natural grazing behaviour with a varied, quality supplementary food.

At NatHab Aquatics, we recommend rotating suitable foods rather than relying on a single food source.

Explore our range of “shrimp foods at NatHab Aquatics” (https://nathab.co.za/product-category/food/) and “natural botanicals” (https://nathab.co.za/product-category/botanicals/).

Feeding advice: Offer small portions appropriate to the size of your colony. Feed supplementary foods a few times per week, adjusting according to natural grazing, colony size and food consumption. Remove uneaten food when necessary to protect water quality. A mature tank with abundant biofilm is especially valuable for shrimplets.

Creating the Ideal Habitat

For the best results, provide plenty of moss, leaf litter, botanicals and other safe grazing surfaces. Avoid copper-containing treatments, sudden changes in water chemistry and large, unnecessary water changes.

When introducing new shrimp, use gradual drip acclimation, especially if the TDS and mineral composition of your aquarium differ from the transport water.
