These beautiful fish originate from carefully selected Japanese bloodlines, known for their rich red-orange coloration, hardy nature, and exceptional quality.

We selectively breed premium Medaka bloodlines and offer healthy, vibrant fish from our proven breeding groups.

Red Emperor Medaka are a captivating freshwater species originating from Japan, admired for their striking red colouration and peaceful temperament. Their vivid appearance creates an eye-catching display in aquariums, ponds, and planted setups, while their hardy nature makes them an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists.

Care Tips

Tank Size: Minimum 20 litres for a small group.

Water Parameters: pH 6.5–7.5, temperature 20–26°C.

Diet: Omnivorous – accepts quality flakes, pellets, and live or frozen foods such as daphnia, mosquito larvae, and baby brine shrimp.

Behaviour: Peaceful, best kept in groups of 6 or more to encourage natural schooling behaviour.

Breeding: Easy to breed; eggs are deposited among fine plants, floating vegetation, or spawning mops.

Aquascaping: Thrive in planted aquariums, tubs, or ponds with gentle filtration and moderate lighting.

Lifespan: Typically 2–4 years with proper care.
