🔵 Blue Bolt Caridina Shrimp
Blue Bolt Caridina are a striking freshwater shrimp prized for their deep blue coloration, contrasting white markings and beautifully varied patterns. Each shrimp can display its own unique combination of blue and white, making them a standout addition to a well-established Caridina aquarium.
At NatHab, we particularly like Blue Bolts for their combination of colour, character and breeding potential. They are peaceful, active grazers that spend much of their time picking over biofilm, plants, wood and substrate.

Diet: Biofilm, algae, botanicals and quality shrimp foods
Difficulty: Intermediate
Breeding: Freshwater breeding; readily breeds in suitable conditions.
Water Parameters
Blue Bolts do best in soft, stable, slightly acidic water. Stability is more important than chasing individual numbers.

Give Blue Bolts a mature aquarium with plenty of biofilm, moss, botanicals and grazing surfaces. Avoid sudden changes in temperature, TDS or water chemistry—Caridina thrive when their environment is consistent.
